Dumfries Model
Flying Club

Who we are

The Dumfries Model Flying Club was established in 1968 and is dedicated to promoting the sport of model flying in South West Scotland. The club is affiliated to the Scottish Aeromodellers Association and is governed by the rules and regulations of the association………….     (OK, that's the official bit, scroll down to find out the facts!)

Like most model flying clubs, we're a bunch of guys (and girls!) who have a common interest in building and flying model aircraft. The catchment area for the club is quite large, this being a rural area and members range from absolute beginners to people like Steve Burgess (seen above), who is one of two national champions that the club can claim as it's "sons". Members participate in vitually every aspect of the hobby including i.c and electric power, gliding, R/C, free flight, indoor and helicopter "hovering". Whilst many members enjoy getting their creations into the air (and keeping them there!), some of us simply like to build. The club is there for everyone.
