Clubhouse takes to the air!

Disaster has struck for DMFC for the second year running - in fact to the very day. Boxing Day '98 saw the destruction of the club's original "clubhouse" caravan during gale force winds and Boxing Day '99 saw club members struggling to save the newly acquired caravan.
Severe winds over the Christmas period blew the mobile home type caravan across a drainage stream and onto a fence. The initial survey was not encouraging, however, a few hours work by four of the club members (including newly elected chairman, Bob Taylor) resulted in the caravan being removed from it's precarious position and re-sited.

Temporary repairs were made to keep out the worst of the weather and the damaged gate and fencing were re-instated. The club will now be looking for support from the membership to carry out proper repairs and install a solid ground anchorage system.
